Race 5

I have a good feeling about Ritzy A.P. in this race. I’ll bet to win and see if I can catch him in a double with River Echo and Kona Coast.

Race 8

I will take Calexman to wire this one with Awarak, Artie B Good, Faversham and Desert Stone.

April 13

Randwick – Race 7

#9 Winx going for a 25th straight win and it’s hard to bet against this great horse. That said I can’t help but think that #3 Humidor might give her another run for her money her stretching out. I think the connections were using that mile last time for this one and all systems should be go.

Randwick – Race 8

Longshot #7 Five to Midnight is my play in race 8, seems to like the softer going and if some rain comes later in the card this will help. But he ran a decent second to Sir Charles Road a few back and that one is tipped to go off a much lower odds. I see some value here.

April 14

Oaklawn – Late Pick 4

Race 8

#1 Title Ready will be the favorite, I’ll take him but hope I can get a longer shot with the #3 Higher Power, #5 Ike and #6 High North. My top pick is #3 Higher Power who I think is poised to take a giant step forward 2nd off the layoff.

Race 9

#4 Whitmore looks tough right back 2nd off the layoff and he is one of two in here who have run recent 100+ beyer speed figures. The other is #3 Wynn Time who must also be respected. I personally just can’t leave #1 Ivan Fallunovalot he just has too much tactical speed and though if he was going to beat Whitmore he likely should have done it last time I still have to have him just in case the race shapes up for him.

Race 10

#11 City of Light has been in raging form and should stretch out nicely here. He has the speed to work out a trip from the outside post. #10 Accelerate has never been a favorite of mine but he cannot be dismissed and so I will include him here. If the track is wet I will include #5 Hawaakom if dry I will pass and take #4 Untrapped.

Race 11

I’ve always liked #9 Combatant and I’m going to give him another chance here in this spot. A case can be made that he just runs for minor awards but I’ll side against that idea and play him to win. I’ll use # 6 Magnum Moon was well and try to survive with just those two.

March 25

Santa Anita – Race 8

I’m picking #2 Coniah to win this race. He is a gutsy horse than can win on the lead or just off the pace if needed. I think he will be able to set a fast pace if needed and go on with it. I’ll take him with the # 6 Bet It On Alphie and the #7 Bendable. I’ll also reverse the 2 and 6 in an Ex bet.

March 23

Kembla Grange – Race 1

I’ll go out on a limb and pick #5 Selective right back off the maiden win here. Showed a great turn off foot last up and I think we might see that again today, though the small field may not provide the best set up.

Rosehill – Race 7 Golden Slipper

#1 Written By to win with the #3 Aylmerton, #5 Performer and #8 Sandbar and #10 Sunlight.

Rosehill Race 8 Galaxy

Lets try at another huge long shot here, this is a wide open affair that is loaded with speed. Despite this I’m going with one of those speed horses, maybe he’s a shot in the dark but I’ll tip the #7 Ball of Muscle. Maybe he’s not good enough to run with these and hang on but I’ll hope the lighter weight and good form will give him a chance. He almost always leaves it all on the track. Track conditions are wet so I’ll take #7 each way and with the #2 Jungle Edge, #4 Secret Agenda and the #13 Viridine.

Okay lets review the weekend, boy was I disappointed with Combatant, he did close well but was way too far back in the early going. Maybe the 10 post did not help, but I wish he had at least won that bob with Solomini. Overall Sat. was a strike out day, Arawak ran very well for 3rd. We did make some hay with our Rosehill tips though. Nice win for Dothraki who finally got up in time or did he? Well I think the stewards made the right choice her as the winner did come out and stop Dothraki’s momentum. Big win there and we caught Humidor which was a no brainier to me.

March 17

Oaklawn Park – Race 10

I’ve been waiting for #10 Combatant to come back. He ran against the bias last time one the outside of a golden rail. But I actually liked this horse before that race. To me he stood out in his two prior races as well but the pace scenario worked against him. A case can be made now that perhaps the horse just does not know how to win and the outside post does not help, but I’ll give him one more big chance here. I’ll play him to win and in an exacter with 8, 3, 7, 9. I’ll include him in my late pick 3 as a single.

Turfway Park – Race 10

This is a sure long shot but I’m picking #12 Arawak here in this race. He ran wide throughout last race and hung in there pretty good. Another outside post does not help but I’ll take a flyer on him.

Gulfstream Park – Race 11

#3 Moonlit Promise to sit a good trip in the Inside Information. I’ll ex with the #6 Rich Mommy.

Rosehill Australia

Race 5

I’m tipping # 1 Dothraki to finally get over the top again. Dothraki has been known to finish 2nd but the last race showed a renewed interest to win and I think a run back to that will result in a win. I’ll take him with the #2 Nieta.

Race 6

In race 6 I’m tipping #4 Calculated at a price to win in a tough race. Calculated ran too well to lose last out, running wide throughout. In an Ex take 1 Holy Snow, 6 Octabello, 5 Renewal, 8 Shumookh underneath.

Race 7

Taking #2 Silent Sedition favouring the early speed here. I’ll play the Ex with #1 Dixie Blossoms, #7 Egg Tart, #13 Ramient. I’ll play the 13 on top in reverse as a saver.

Flemington

Race 5

I’m picking #2 Humidor to win this one. May need another to be ready but I think he will come home strong and may just get it done.

Late Pick 3

Race 7

I’m tipping #2 Big Agenda in this one. He took a while to get his motor going last race pushed along by Centeno but finally got going and ran through the line strong. I think the pace scenario will work out well here, this son of Data Link should be forwardly placed and ready to take a step forward off a green effort for Clement.

Race 8

I like the #2 Hey Baby Girl here, I’ll also add the #3 Bridal Shower and the #4 Charcuterie.

Race 9

In race 9 I’m taking #3 Devils Rose who was in against some tough front runners last time. They came back to run 1, 2 again. I’ll support with #8 Diva Chick. If you want to add more value #6 She’sadowntowngirl is of interest adding blinkers.

Race 6

If you want to take a crack at the late pick 4 I’d use the #4 and #6 in race 6 both have claims here.

Race 6

Value play #2 Lemontagne and closer #6 Luckbe Tanya to get the win here.

Race 7

I’m solid on #3 Tropicality here with the switch to Saez, pairing up speed fig numbers and going sprint to route. I like these kind of runners as 2nd time 3 year olds.
